Can the bank/credit union put a new fee on my checking account?
Yes, except that in most cases, your bank or credit union must give you at least 30 days’ notice before adding a new fee or increasing an existing fee.
Exceptions include fees related to check printing and the expiration of clearly designated promotional fee waivers. Check your account agreement for more information on fees your bank or credit union can charge.
